Through our website, we may offer:
- Tickets for events.
- Reservations and private-hire enquiries.
- Gift cards or vouchers.
- Drinks, merchandise or other products.
- Information about the venue and upcoming events.
Some events may be organised in collaboration with, or on behalf of, third parties. Additional event-specific terms may apply where clearly communicated before purchase.
3. Website use
You may use our website only for lawful purposes.
You must not:
- Use the website fraudulently or unlawfully.
- Interfere with its security or operation.
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to systems or customer information.
- Introduce malicious software or harmful code.
- Scrape, copy or commercially exploit website content without permission.
- Use false information when making a booking or purchase.
We may suspend access where reasonably necessary to protect the website, our customers or our business.
4. Website information
We take reasonable care to keep event descriptions, dates, prices, availability and other information accurate.
Occasional errors may occur. We may correct an obvious error before accepting an order. If an error affects an accepted booking, we will contact you and offer an appropriate remedy, which may include confirming the corrected information or providing a refund.
Images and promotional materials are illustrative. Event programmes, supporting performers, menus and availability may change where reasonably necessary.
5. Placing an order
When you submit an order, you are offering to purchase the selected tickets, products or services.
An order is accepted when we send confirmation that it has been accepted. An automated acknowledgement does not necessarily constitute acceptance if payment has failed, availability is incorrect or an obvious error has occurred.
We may decline or cancel an order where:
- Payment is not authorised.
- Tickets or products are unavailable.
- The stated price or description contains an obvious error.
- We reasonably suspect fraud, misuse or unauthorised resale.
- Accepting the order would breach a legal or licensing requirement.
If we cancel an order after receiving payment, we will refund the amount paid for the affected item.
6. Prices and payment
Prices are shown in pounds sterling and include applicable taxes unless clearly stated otherwise.
Any mandatory booking or transaction fee will be displayed before payment.
Payment must be made using a method available at checkout. Payments may be processed by Shopify and third-party payment providers under their own terms and privacy policies.
You confirm that you are authorised to use the selected payment method and that the information supplied is accurate.
7. Event tickets
Tickets are valid only for the event, date, time and admission category shown in the booking confirmation.
You are responsible for:
- Checking the event details before purchasing.
- Providing a valid email address and contact information.
- Checking your confirmation and notifying us promptly of errors.
- Arriving in sufficient time for admission.
- Complying with any stated age, identification, dress or access requirements.
A booking confirmation may be required for admission. Copying or duplicating a ticket does not create additional admission rights.
Admission is subject to venue capacity, licensing requirements and these terms.
8. Refunds and event changes
Event-ticket cancellations, refunds, transfers, rescheduling and material changes are governed by our Return and Refund Policy, which forms part of these terms.
Tickets for leisure events taking place on a specific date do not normally carry the standard 14-day change-of-mind cancellation right.
This does not affect your statutory rights.
9. Ticket transfers and resale
Tickets may not be resold for profit or through an unauthorised resale platform.
If you cannot attend, contact us before the event to ask whether a transfer is possible. Transfers are not confirmed until approved by Crown Lane Cellar.
We may refuse tickets that we reasonably believe have been fraudulently obtained, duplicated or resold in breach of these terms.
10. Event changes
We may make reasonable changes to:
- Event timings.
- Running orders.
- Supporting performers.
- Room allocation.
- Seating or standing arrangements.
- Programme details.
- Access arrangements.
Where an event is cancelled, rescheduled or materially changed, we will provide the options described in our Return and Refund Policy.
We will use the contact information supplied with the booking to communicate significant changes. Customers remain responsible for checking event information before travelling.
11. Admission and conduct
Crown Lane Cellar is a licensed premises. We may refuse admission or require someone to leave where reasonably necessary for safety, licensing compliance or the enjoyment of others.
This may include situations involving:
- Intoxication.
- Threatening, abusive, discriminatory or disruptive behaviour.
- Illegal activity.
- Possession of prohibited or dangerous items.
- Failure to meet an advertised age restriction.
- Failure to provide acceptable proof of age or identity.
- Breach of venue rules or reasonable staff instructions.
- Conduct that risks the safety of customers, performers or staff.
Refunds will not normally be provided where admission is reasonably refused, or a customer is removed, for these reasons.
Searching may be a condition of entry where reasonably required for safety or event security.
12. Age restrictions and alcohol
Alcohol will not be sold or supplied to anyone under 18.
We operate an age-verification policy and may request acceptable photographic identification. Failure to provide identification may result in alcohol service or admission being refused where an age restriction applies.
Individual events may have specific age restrictions. These will be displayed on the relevant event page where applicable.
A ticket purchase does not override licensing law or an event’s stated age requirements.
13. Accessibility
We want customers to have accurate information about venue access.
Because Crown Lane Cellar is located in a historic cellar setting, customers with accessibility requirements should contact us before purchasing or visiting so we can explain current access arrangements and discuss reasonable assistance.
We cannot guarantee that every adjustment will be possible, but we will consider reasonable requests in accordance with applicable law.
14. Photography and recording
Photography or recording may take place at certain events. Where practical, notices will be displayed or information provided in advance.
Commercial photography, filming or recording at the venue requires prior permission.
Customers must not record performers, staff or other guests where recording is prohibited, infringes another person’s rights or unreasonably affects their privacy.
If you have concerns about event photography, please speak to a member of staff.
15. Reservations and private hire
Submitting a reservation or private-hire enquiry does not create a confirmed booking.
A booking is confirmed only when we expressly accept it and any required deposit or advance payment has been received.
Additional terms relating to deposits, minimum spend, timings, cancellation, catering, entertainment and room use may be provided for private events. Where accepted, those event-specific terms form part of the agreement.
16. Gift cards and vouchers
If gift cards or vouchers are offered:
- They may be used only in accordance with the conditions stated when purchased.
- They cannot normally be exchanged for cash.
- Lost or stolen vouchers may not be replaceable unless ownership and the unused balance can be verified.
- Any expiry date or restrictions will be clearly communicated before purchase.
Nothing in this section affects rights that cannot legally be excluded.
17. Physical goods and delivery
If physical products are offered, their delivery, return and cancellation conditions will be displayed during checkout or in our applicable policies.
Event tickets and booking confirmations are normally supplied electronically and are not physically shipped unless expressly stated.
18. Third-party services and links
Our website may contain links to third-party websites, payment providers, social networks, event organisers or other services.
We are not responsible for third-party content or services outside our control. Your use of those services may be subject to separate terms and privacy policies.
19. Intellectual property
Unless otherwise stated, the website and its content—including text, branding, graphics, photographs, video and design—belong to Crown Lane Cellar or are used with permission.
You may view the website and make copies of booking information for personal use. You may not reproduce, modify, distribute or commercially exploit our content without prior written permission.
The rights of performers, photographers, event organisers and other contributors remain with their respective owners.
20. Our responsibility to you
We do not exclude or limit liability where doing so would be unlawful. This includes liability for:
- Death or personal injury caused by negligence.
- Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
- Breach of rights that cannot be excluded under consumer law.
- Any other liability that cannot legally be limited.
Subject to those protections, we are not responsible for losses that:
- Were not reasonably foreseeable when the contract was formed.
- Result from circumstances outside our reasonable control.
- Relate to business or commercial use by a consumer.
- Arise from travel, accommodation or arrangements purchased separately from us.
Nothing in these terms affects your statutory consumer rights.
21. Events outside our reasonable control
We are not responsible for delay, disruption or failure caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control.
These may include severe weather, flooding, fire, utility failure, transport disruption, public-health restrictions, government action, performer illness, security concerns or other emergencies.
Where such circumstances affect an event, we will take reasonable steps to communicate with customers and apply our Return and Refund Policy.
22. Personal information
Our collection and use of personal information are described in our Privacy Policy.
Our use of cookies and similar technologies is described in our cookie information and consent controls.
23. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms when our services, business practices or legal obligations change.
The terms applying to a purchase are normally those in force when the order was accepted, together with any event-specific conditions disclosed before purchase.
24. Severability
If any part of these terms is found to be unlawful or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply.
25. No waiver
If we delay enforcing a provision, that does not mean we have waived our right to enforce it later.
26. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
Consumers living elsewhere in the United Kingdom retain any mandatory protections and rights to bring proceedings available under the laws applicable to them.
