Getting Here
By Train
Carlisle railway station is in Court Square in the city centre, around half a kilometre from Crown Lane Cellar, making us easily reachable on foot for visitors arriving by train.
Parking
There are several public car parks within Carlisle city centre.
Nearby options include Fisher Street Car Park and Peter Street Car Park. Parking availability, opening times and charges can change, so we recommend checking current information with Cumberland Council before travelling.

Some events are free, while others require a ticket or advance booking. Occasionally an event may take over the whole venue, meaning we are closed to regular trade.

Crown Lane Cellar is a popular stop for pre-show and post-show drinks when visiting some of Carlisle’s best-known entertainment venues.
Whether you’re seeing live music at The Brickyard, a show at the Old Fire Station or an event at The Sands Centre, join us for cocktails, wine, beer or alcohol-free drinks before heading to the performance — or come back afterwards and let the night continue.

Walk-ins & Group Reservations
You’re always welcome to join us for drinks without a reservation.
For larger groups, celebrations or occasions where you would particularly like an area kept together, you can send us a Group Reservation Request in advance.
We’ll always try to accommodate you, but please remember that Friday and Saturday evenings are our busiest times, so reserved space may be limited and cannot always be offered.
Availability can also be much more restricted during exceptionally busy seasonal periods, particularly throughout December and the Christmas season. During these times we may be unable to reserve areas on peak evenings, even for larger groups.
For some reservations, we may ask for a deposit to secure the booking. Where agreed, this can usually be used as a bar tab during your visit.
Because the Cellar can become particularly busy, we ask groups with reserved areas to arrive at the agreed time. We will normally hold reserved space for 15 minutes after your confirmed arrival time. If you are running late, please let us know. If we have not heard from you, we may need to release the space for other guests.
